The first edition of the Barcelona Wine Week has come to an end, an event that was born to pick up the baton from Intervin Alimentaria, where we have participated since the beginning. On this occasion we had to be there from the beginning, supporting and expanding the knowledge of Spanish wine to more than 300 buyers who have come from all around the world over these three days.
What I like best about these fairs is the teamwork within our company. Seeing how we are an orchestra playing the same tune, supporting each other for hours, creating a special atmosphere and camaraderie. The fairs are a great occasion for me to meet up with our national distributors and our importers, who represent us and share our values.
I have also been able to spend time with great friends from the industry, such as Miguel Torres, José Luis Benítez or my dear María Isabel Mijares. We have had the privilege of sampling our new Casar de Vide, Viña Garugele and Carlos Moro Picón de Zurita wines with the editor of the prestigious magazine Wine Spectator, Thomas Matthews. The days have also afforded us fluent contact with the media who continue to get behind our Matarromera Esencia project.
At our stand over the last few days we have welcomed hundreds of people who have come to learn about and enjoy our superb wine and the fabulous products by our friends at Ibéricos Fisan. Once again, we have formed a winning partnership that has delighted all those present.
In short, time will bear its fruits, but we were at the first edition of the Barcelona Wine Week planting the first seeds with great excitement.
