GET TO KNOW MY STORY
Carlos Moro (Valladolid, 1953) is an agronomist engineer and, like his ancestors, a winegrower, oenologist and winery owner. In 1988, he founded the Bodega Matarromera winery in Ribera del Duero, continuing with the family tradition. Currently, the company Bodegas Familiares Matarromera, of which he is also president, boasts six prestigious designations of origin: Ribera del Duero, Rioja, Rueda, Toro, Cigales and Ribeiro.
Besides viticulture, his companies are committed to biotechnology, wine tourism, and developing products such as oils, cosmetics and alcoholic-free wines. Carlos Moro is acknowledged as one of the most innovative and committed Spanish businessmen and has received recognition and multiple awards for his entrepreneurial work. In 2016, he was awarded the National Research Award by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, presented by Their Majesties the King and Queen of Spain, for his promotion of research and development.
We promote sustainability from two points of view: Fighting against climate change and developing more natural, organic, healthy and ecological products, together with our commitment to R+D+i, which are two of our main characteristics. For a company like ours, which lives off the land, sustainability and innovation is a commitment and an attitude.
